THE TEAM

VIC EMERY OBE, CHAIR

Vic was appointed as Chair of Thoughthive (UK) Limited in 2014.  He is also currently the Chair of Zero Waste Scotland (ZWS) and holds a number of other Non-Executive posts including Past President and Board Member of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, an organisation which represents SME's in Glasgow as well as promoting Glasgow and Scotland in the international market place. Vic is also Chair of the Scottish Maritime Museum and Board Member of the Scottish Regional Advisory Board. 

In the public sector, Vic has served three terms of public service to policing in Scotland - as Chair of the Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA) and more recently of the Scottish Police Authority (SPA), responsible to the Scottish Government for the policing of Scotland. 

Vic was also asked to Chair the Edinburgh Tram project when the project was embroiled in a series of high profile technical, commercial and legal issues. The project was successfully brought back on track and Vic remained Senior Adviser to the Tram Project Delivery Group for the City of Edinburgh Council until April 2013. Vic also Chaired the New Campus Glasgow Project, merging 4-city centre further education colleges into a single super college (35,000 students) and building 2 new campuses. 

In Private Sector, Vic was formally Group Managing Director of BAE Systems warship building and sustainment business for over 10 years, across 5 operational facilities in the UK with a turnover of £800 million and a workforce of 7500. Vic sat on the Operational Board of BAE Systems Plc from 2003 until 2008 and was awarded an OBE in May 2008 for services to warship building.  Vic retired from BAE Systems and became a business and strategy consultant and returned to Canada to consult on their National Shipbuilding Program, a CAN$35 billion program for building ships on the East and West Coast of Canada.  Vic continues to consult on shipbuilding and capital project issues both domestically and internationally. 

 


JON BEADON, CHIEF OPERATION OFFICER

Jon has over 30 years experience at Executive Director level in the Maritime Defence Industry.  During his career, he has has worked globally but most notably in the Middle East, the Far East and the UK Markets, having had responsibility for Sales and Marketing in three of the UK’s major Defence Companies. Jon was the Director of (Vosper Thornycroft) now VT Group’s Hydraulic Division and became Managing Director of VT Joint Venture Company, Seawork Ltd. Following on from this success, Jon moved on to become VT’s Ship Sales Director and set up and established sales offices in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Thailand.  His efforts, with his team, resulted in significant ship sales, both military and civil.  Jon also brokered and negotiated  the sale of the world’s largest sailing sloop to a customer in the United States of America. Jon was also Sales Director for BAE Systems surface warship building and sustainment business in the UK focussing on securing multi-million pounds naval defence projects nationally and internationally. Jon retired from BAE Systems in 2011 and became a Business Development and Marketing Consultant before becoming the full time COO For Thoughthive Ltd.

 


FRANK LEWIS, COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR


GRAHAM INETT, BUSINESS DIRECTOR, OMAN

Graham spent much of his career within the UK’s Ministry of Defence across a range of policy and operational disciplines.  In recent years, Graham has spent his time overseas  as a defence and security equipment adviser in Libya and Oman.  Graham joined the Thoughthive team at the beginning of 2013 to develop the Omani market.  Since then, Graham has introduced the company to the Al Obaidani International Group, as  a specialist partner.  


ALAN FORD, BUSINESS DIRECTOR, DUBAI & SAUDI


KEVIN HAUG, BUSINESS DIRECTOR - NORTH AMERICA

Kevin Haug manages the North American Region (USA and Canada) to drive growth and oversee strategic planning, business operations and the management of key functions including sales, channel sales, partner services and marketing, bringing nearly 30 years of Technology Industry experience. Prior to Thoughthive, Kevin worked on engineering and development of mobile and wireless devices at Ulesco, San Diego and prior to that was Vice President & General Manager - Telecom at Pulse Engineering, responsible for worldwide sales, marketing, finance, customer support and global services. Until 2006, Kevin spent 5 years at CXR Telecom, as President, overseeing a strong domestic and International Technology Division with manufacturing in Shanghai, China.  Before that, he led the EMEA Region for Harris Corporation ( DTS Division) as their General Manager based in Belgium, developing their EMEA hardware and software portfolio including sales, marketing, technical support, finance and human resources.  Kevin holds a BS in Business/Finance from San Diego State University and a MBA from The American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird), Glendale, Arizona.
